Shoot the Birds

A game built on Arduino and Processing, played by body movements.

Today people have grown accustomed to interact with computer by keyboards and mice. Most of the computer games are also played by the hardware. But apparently with the development of techniques in the domain of sensors, more interesting human computer interaction experience could and will be built.

In the field of video games, instead of keyboards and mice, which are efficient enough but unnatural, I believe a more natural and interesting game experience could be built by using the sensors to collect users’ data and then using the data to control the game. And this is what the project ”Shoot the bird” designed for.

To achieve this goal, first, two FSRs were added under a skateboard and a program is coded and uploaded to the Arduino Uno to collect the data of pressure from the FSRs . When a user standing on the skateboard and moving his/her weight centre by swing body, the pressure distribution will be different and the data will be different. All the collected data are transferred to a computer and analysed and then be used to control a video game programmed by processing.
